Linda Draper News & Notes

Along with continuing her studies in Music Therapy, more praise for Linda's latest LP "Keepsake" streams in -online Folk/Americana Magazine Rambles calls it:

"Linda Draper is a poetess...Her music is as warm and direct as a lullaby...but the poetry can be passionate and taut with a love of life." -Rambles (October, 2007)

On the recording front, Linda is currently collaborating with Japanese acoustic/shoegaze band Color Filter(Darla, USA/Pointy Records, UK/P-Vine Records, Japan etc.) for an upcoming compilation release. What Remains For The Tamborines In 2007?

The Tamborines have been a bit busy since the release of their debut CDEP release "Sally O'Gannon." The single has been charting on CMJ's Top 25 charts on College stations such as WXJM in Virginia among others. More rave reviews are streaming in - Music Magazine Delusions Of Adequacy calls it "a terrific EP of fresh, frequently fast, melodic indie rock that recalls legends and icons but sounds wholly original." The word is out and rumors of a US tour continue to float. For now, you can catch the band in the UK on dates in support of Tee Pee Records' The Warlocks (see the band's myspace for complete details) ie: The Tunnel Festival, Sonic Cathedral, etc

As soon as we could say "Sally O'Gannon", Henrique Laurindo has confirmed further details on the next release - it will likely be another fabulous EP - the lead off track will be a new killer fuzz garage rocker titled "31st Floor" - you can hear the demo at the band's myspace page.

Words From Jim Reid

Jim Reid has released this message via his myspace.com/jimreid page:

MISQUOTED AT BRIXTON ACADEMY

I just thought i should write this to anyone who is interested. It's been reported in a couple of reviews (the NME and The Independent) that at our Brixton Academy show that I made a comment to the audience "You are a bunch of miserable bastards". Some people might think it's no big deal but i think it's actually important to point out that i did infact say "WE are a bunch of miserable bastards", which seemed appropriate at the time as it was just after the song 'Happy When it Rains'. I've asked both of these publications to print a retraction, but i'd have more chance of the editors coming round cleaning my toilets. I have been told that they will print my letter though. so let's wait and see... But for what it's worth, and for whoever cares, it amazes me that we can still play in venues such as The Brixton Academy, and that anyone cares enough to come, i certainly don't take a Jesus and Mary Chain audience for granted.
