INTERNATIONAL JETSETTERS
"Heart Is Black" continues it's streak with spot on rave reviews - this time out Oxford, UK's Nightshift magazine has just published its December issue containing its Top 20 songs of the year and spotlights the IJ's at number 13:

13. INTERNATIONAL
JETSETTERS:
'Never Slows Down'

"Featuring two current touring members of The Jesus & Mary Chain, one of whom used to drum with Ride, International Jetsetters'pedigree is in no doubt. With their musical roots drinking inspiration from everything from The Velvet Underground and Spacemen 3 to Cowboy Junkies and Cocteau Twins, they're also an indie trainspotter's dream, but still sound as fresh as a meadow of psychedelic sun-drenched daisies, and here it is singer Fi McFall's sleepy-eyed vocal soar that steals the show, heading skywards in a blizzard of shoegazey guitars in a manner that critics of yore might have called a cathedral of sound."

In more written praise of the band, Indie rock's #1 fan/music writer Dave Cromwell chimes in via MOG's blog with these words on the Jetsetters:

"Brilliantly crafted, it features six songs which cover a wide range of emotions and sonic textures. The songwriting and production are meticulously executed, with deep bassline, fluid drumming, rich guitar layers and passionately expressive vocals."

On the airwaves...German radio and one of PSR's favorite DJ's - Jalal, has been spinning the Jetsetters "Inside Out" on the the legendary indie radio show Popscene with Jalal heard Fridays at 18:00 hrs CET on Radio Wesner (Bremen/Germany)

Meanwhile, Loz Colbert, Bert Audubert, and Paul Crozer recently sat down for an interview with ROCKSELLOUT . They discuss the band's formation, vocalist Fi McFall, influences, and more. They are also busy, working on new tracks for the next release. The latest review comes from Lexington, VA radio station WLUR 91.5 FM:

"Fast-burning garage-infused indie rock in the style of the Raveonettes and the Silversun Pickups. Track 3 slows it down with a lilting little ballad courtesy of vocalist Fi McFall. Though the CD only has 6 tracks, they're each strong and are a fine blend of the band's Oxford heritage and fuzzy New York sound. Check this out and brace yourself for the full length."

THE LOVETONES are set to release their 4th LP "Dimensions" in Australia on November 3rd via Yep Records/MGM. They will launch the new LP with a CD release party on November 15th at the ANNANDALE HOTEL in SYDNEY - in supoport will be, special guests: Des Miller + Los Sundowners + The Joysticks. New Release Alert - Australia's The Lovetones Sign On To PSR

The Lovetones will release their fourth LP "Dimensions"(PSRCD-060) on January 13, 2009. From the band's bio: The LP is set for a November 2008 release in Australia - it's the latest chapter in the indie psychedelic pop legacy of frontman Matthew Tow, who remains one of Australia's most underrated songwriters. Beautiful jangling guitars in wide stereo mixed with honest heartfelt lyrics, Tow's songs have an enduring timelessness about them, remaining catchy without ever being contrived. The album was mixed in Los Angeles by Rob Campanella (Brian Jonestown Massacre/Quarter After/Black Angels) and mastered by William Bowden (one of Australia's finest mastering engineers). The Lovetones will be touring Australia in November before heading back to the US to support the album's North American release in early 2009. For more information please visit the band at myspace.com/thelovetones. Keep checking back for more details on this excellent release.

The Corner Laughers "Stonewords"

Bio from www.myspace.com/cornerlaughers

The Corner Laughers specialize in bouncy, clever, melodic pop songs about evolution, mythology, ancient history, and guys who are jerks.

Their album Tomb Of Leopards spans many genres and continents and features songs about being trapped in a bathroom in Rome with nothing but a Simon and Garfunkel CD; a tea party with Sherlock Holmes; the 9 Greek muses having seasonal flings in a small town in Michigan; joyfully reuniting with a loved one in the fiery pits of hell; seedy areas of 18th century London; and a succession of failed roommates. They have won several Garageband.com awards including: Track of the Day in Power Pop, Best Female Vocals in Power Pop, Best Melody in Power Pop, Feel Good Track in Power Pop, Track of the Day in Alternative. Singer / ukuleleist Karla and guitarist Angela began writing music together the instant they met and both enjoy spending their spare time rescuing wild animals, watching time travel movies, and talking about sandwiches. They are currently working on their next album.

The Parson Red Heads "Change Your Mind"

Bio from www.myspace.com/redheads

To keep it simple – yes, The Parson Red Heads are originally from Oregon; yes, the band includes family members; yes, they do like The Byrds - and yes, only two of them are actual redheads. Moving on … when The Parson Red Heads debut full length King Giraffe was released last year, they had already earned themselves a solid reputation in their home of Los Angeles that was backed up by successful Monday night residencies at Silver Lake Lounge and The Echo - but since its release, their presence has extended past LA’s city limits. The 60’s loving quintet has been reviewed and featured in Under the Radar, Harp, Death and Taxes, Performer, LA Times, San Francisco Bay Guardian and has had steady play on college radio (KG stayed in the CMJ top 200 for 9 weeks). They further solidified their reign over LA with a Monday night residency at Spaceland this January, and a performance on KCRW’s Morning Becomes Eclectic. To keep the ball rolling, they will release a six song EP this May called Owl & Timber that highlights both their subtle and sweet acoustic tendencies as well as their consistent need for psyched out jams.

After a few rotating cast members and other line-up changes last year, the dust has settled and The Parson Red Heads at their core are Evan Way (vocals, guitar), Brette Marie Way (drums, vocals), Erin Way (keyboards, vocals), Samuel Fowles (guitar, vocals) and David Swensen (bass, vocals), with the occasional help of Raymond Richards (pedal steel, guitar), Jason Wrightsman (tambourine), and Aaron Ballard (guitar, storytelling).

The Voyces Live At Sea Gate Chapel Show

From the Voyces official website: On Saturday, June 14th, singer/songwriter Dave Doobinin hosted an unforgettable evening at The Chapel in Sea Gate, (Coney Island) Brooklyn. The Chapel was built in 1901 and sits meters from the Ocean and Norton’s point lighthouse. No longer used for services, the chapel felt magical, and had an intimate, ambient setting complete with candle light, rugs, and complementary wine and beer. The night's performers: Dave Doobinin (and his incredible band), Tara Angell, Briana Winter, Kat, Black Bunny, & The Voyces. (Acoustic inside and electric out: Mother Nature contributed with sheets of rain and enormous amounts lightning.) The entire occasion was so spirited and memorable from start to finish that this posting is really just a heartfelt 'thank you' to Dave Doobinin for arranging it all. For photos of the event, keep checking the band's website: www.thevoyces.net.

Linda Draper In Upcoming Novel

While Linda Draper has been busy recording her latest LP, that hasn't stopped her name from being plugged in of all places an upcoming mystery novel. Pennsylvania Author J.R. Lindermuth's latest book is titled "Corruptions Child" and will be published by Whiskey Creek Press(Casper, WY) and will be out June 2008. "Corruptions" will be the third book in Lindermuth's Sticks Hetrick mystery series. Linda's "Big Blue Sky" from her 2005 LP "One Two Three Four" gets a nice quote in a scene involving one of the key characters, Flora Vastine, who is a young policewoman. Sounds like a good one, check amazon.com for the book.

Meanwhile, Linda has also scheduled a show at the Sidewalk Cafe(NYC)on Thursday May 15, 2008 to unveil new tracks from her latest LP due out in early 2009. If that wasn't enough, the show line-up will also include the US debut of fellow PSR band International Jetsetters and PSR's hit popmakers The Voyces. Hmmm...could this be a night of cracking ace music? You bet! Show starts at 8PM
