Alex
Sharkey's former band, legendary outfit Brighter from the Sarah
Records famed catalogue, will see a release of a new
compilation. The tentively titled "Out To Sea: The Rest of
Brighter 1989-1992" (Matinee
Records 041) will most likely hit record outlets later this
year. The LP will feature the entire Brighter LP
"Laurel" plus a variety of tracks from flexi discs,
compilations and previously unreleased material. According to
the Matinee site, the collection could feature 20 plus tracks.

Alex Sharkey is once again
teaming up with former band mate Keris Howard in Harper Lee, which is
gearing up for April live dates. Alex promises more news shortly,
which should also include some Pinkie dates. Pinkie is
currently recording tracks for an upcoming third release not yet titled, as
always check back frequently for more detail.
In other
release news, Pinkie's "Sharon Fussy" was released in
Europe/Japan via Mushroom Pillow Records. The LP contains two
bonus tracks: "Secret Signs" and "Now or

Sorry
for the long delays in updates. Lets begin with new Pinkie
release information. As reported last time, Alex has been
working with fellow Planting Seeds' artist Linda Draper and
this past August PSR released the fabulous remix versions of
Linda's "Needlessly" and "The Broken Muzzle"
together on the six track CDEP "Needlessly" (PSRCD-034)
- you can pick up a copy via the Planting Seeds Catalogue.
In other
Pinkie new, Alex has also contributed the song "One" -
another fine slice of electro-pop for the Wood Records tribute LP
"I"ll Never Leave You: An Avante-Garde and Outsider Tribute
to the Music of Harry Nilsson" (wd73). The LP was released
on September 11, 2005. The comp also features Linda Draper &
Brian Wurschum (The Voyces) and their fun take on "The Lottery
Song" plus performances from Peter Dizozza, Shank, Matt Kinnison,
Mary Jane and lots more. If that wasn't enough, Alex is
currently working on new material for future release. We'll keep
you posted.

Lots of
news on the Pinkie front! Alex has completed his collaboration
with fellow Planting Seeds' artist NYC folk chanteuse Linda Draper.
The tracks will see it's release as a limited edition CDEP titled
"Needlessy" which is one of the tracks remixed by Alex
Sharkey. Final track listing will be up later this month.

Pinkie release news! Alex is currently working on recording his
track for Tennessee based Wood Records' tribute to singer/songwriter
Harry Nilsson. The
tribute is titled "I'll
Never Leave You: An Avante-Garde And Outsider Tribute
To Harry Nilsson." Nilsson
is the writer of many pop classics: The ballad
"Without You"; "Cuddly Toy" from The
Monkees;"Best Friend" (AKA "Girlfriend") from the
TV show "Courtship of Eddie's Father" - among countless
other hits. The compilation is planned for a September
11, 2005 release. This will be a limited edition pressing with
proceeds going to Amnesty
International. Pinkie will be contributing the track
"One" (A familiar hit also performed by Three Dog
Night) For more details on this amazing release please visit the

If that
wasn't enough, Pinkie also appears on Volume 4 of Clairecords
"Test Tones" features the single mix of "Say After
Me" - also featured on the compilation: Anton Barbeau w/
The Bevis Frond, Parasol's Angie Heaton, and really lots more.

Hampton Roads,
Virginia National Public Radio affiliate WHRV 89.5 FM's fabulous "Out
of The Box" program (Hosted by Paul Shugrue) showcased some of
2004's best music on a variety of Retrospective shows. Planting
Seeds Records artists were featured on two of their programs. Pinkie was featured on the "Best Electronica"
with the track "Someone I'll Never Be" - featured alongside acts
as Stereolab, Air, Sigur Ros, and The Album Leaf among others.
Virginia' Beach's own Astropop 3 was featured on the "Best of
Local Recordings" edition with their national hit "Forget
Tomorrow." Other featured artists: Mae, 1888,
N.E.R.D, Bio Ritmo, and others. Help support National Public
