Rockets Red Glare
Rockets Red Glare were a Fine-tuned pop outfit from California via New York. They recorded a fabulous self-titled debut LP in 1999, featuring hints of Badfinger,1960's pop/rock, and psychadelia. The band featured Tim Barnes (The Essex Green) and singer/songwriter Floyd Venacia. Although the LP remains in the Planting Seeds vaults, the band did manage to record a fine country rocking version of Michael Nesmith's "Listen To The Band which was included on the fantastic compilation "Through The Looking Glass: Indie Pop Plays The Monkees." Another fine track, "Another Vibration" was heard on the limited edition Planting Seeds sampler CD "Indie Rockfest 2000." The world has yet to experience some timeless music from this melodic duo, time is definitely on their side .
