The Voyces
After having moved from California to
New York, singers Brian Wurschum and Laurel Hoffman began calling themselves The
Voyces. They formed a band and soon released The Angels of Fun (2003),
a mostly folk-oriented effort co-produced by Diego Garrido (The Simpsons, The
Squid and the Whale). That same year, The Voyces would receive international exposure
when one of their songs, Relate To Me, was included in Jack Johnsons
Thicker Than Water film and soundtrack.
Hoffman stopped singing
with the group in 2004. Wurschum played solo for awhile, but in 2006, singer Jude
Kastle, guitarist Steve Dawson, and drummer Eric Puente would come along and,
along with Wurschum and bassist Frank Carreno, completely re-form The Voyces.
That same year, two of the band's songs found their way into another feature film,
"National Lampoons Adam & Eve" (and into the television show,
"Monarch Cove.")
A brand new, full-length album, "Kissing Like
It's Love" was recently completed and will be released on Planting Seeds Records
on May 8th, 2007. (A single and video will come first.)
