A.M. Vibe
A.M. Vibe is a female-fronted rock band from San Diego. Their sound has been described as a blending of the post-punk aggression of Nirvana and the fuzz rock of The Stooges - with the sweet melodies of the Carpenters and the Pixies - Using their sometimes noisy, sometimes nice approach, they deliver simple, irresistible and intelligent songs. This San Diego based trio includes vocalist/guitarist Lisah Nicholson, bassist Michael Porter, and drummer Mark Vernon. The band has it’s roots in indiepop (see March Records’ 1996 compilation release "Pop American Style" for Lisah's previous band Red Dye No. 5) and have released tracks on various compilations as well as their debut LP on indie label Silvergirl Records. A.M. Vibe has also played in circles with Freeheat/The Jesus And Mary Chain, The Buzzcocks, Cat Power, New Pornographers, Juliana Hatfield, among many others. “Capricorno” (PSRCD-061) is the band’s latest release and debut for Planting Seeds Records.
